Robert A. Briggs, Ph.D.

Dr. Briggs is a licensed as a psychologist in Arizona. He received his doctorate in Counseling Psychology in 1984 from the University of Missouri. Dr. Briggs completed his residency at the Kansas City Veterans Administration Medical Center with emphasis in neuropsychological evaluation. He received two years post-doctoral training including neuropsychological assessments at North Kansas City Memorial Hospital. For the next eight years, Dr. Briggs was the Outpatient Director of the Industrial Rehabilitation Center in North Kansas City, Missouri. Following his post-doctoral work, Dr. Briggs has continued his education through additional and on-going instruction with Dr. Ralph Reitan, Dr. Deborah Wolfson, Dr. Jim Hom, and Dr. Janice Nici.

In January 1986, Dr. Briggs co-founded Neuropsychology Consulting Services and it has been continuously operating as a resource for health provider community in addition to providing forensic consultations. The clinical populations served are children (from age 5) and adults, with consultation provided to members of the medical and legal professions. Neuropsychology Consulting Services is located in Scottsdale, Arizona.

Dr. Briggs has presented numerous workshops and has been consulted as an expert by local television in the area of traumatic brain injury in children. He has provided expert witness testimony in civil and criminal cases. Dr. Briggs has provided evaluations in worker's compensation and vocational rehabilitation cases.

Dr. Briggs is a member of the American Psychological Association and its Society for Clinical Neuropsychology. He also holds memberships in the National Academy of Neuropsychology and was a charter member of the Coalition of Clinical Practitioners in Neuropsychology. Dr. Briggs is a member of The Arizona Psychological Association and the Brain Injury Association of Arizona. Since 1998, he has been a practicum supervisor in neuropsychological assessment for doctoral level psychology students. Dr. Briggs was elected member-at-large of the executive committee of the Greater Kansas City Psychological Association in 1990 and 1991 after serving as its treasurer in 1988 and 1989.
